Singulair is for patients that have asthma and is used for long term prevention. The reason why Singulair is used for asthma is because it can reduce any kind of swelling or inflammation that might take place. This medication is also known to treat runny noses, allergies, perennial, and stuffy noses. It is only needed once a day and should be done daily regardless if the patient is having any kind of symptom. Singulair can be taken without or with food depending on how sensitive a patient might be to the medication. It is best to take Singulair at night when a patient has either asthma or allergies. Side effects include but not limited to: - Hives When any of these side effects or allergic reactions happen the doctor should be notified right away. When there is an allergic reaction then the patient can not take the drug anymore and another treatment will be done instead to help with either the asthma, or allergies. |
