What Is Flovent |
Asthma can be treated in a lot of ways and one way is by Flovent. It is a steroid that patients inhale and a medication that is known as a controller medication for asthma. Flovent can be used to prevent any asthma symptoms like if a patient has chronic cough. Once Flovent is inhaled it goes directly into the patients lungs and that causes the inflammation to decrease. The airway also becomes hyper responsiveness. The good thing about that is a trigger might not happen because of the inflammation decreasing. If the inflammation is not decreasing it could cause an asthma attack from something triggering it. When a patient has to take Flovent it should be done every day to prevent the asthma from getting triggered. Only one or two puffs is required daily. Sometimes the doctor might decrease how much Flovent is being used if it is working really well and the asthma is under control. Side effects for Flovent include but not limited to: - Hives If the side effects do not ease over a certain amount of time the doctor should be notified but often times the side effects tend to decrease. |
