Exercising with Yoga to Treat Asthma

Yoga is a form of exercise that includes both physical and mental faculties and is an exercise that is possible to do with asthma and can help to mentally deal with the condition. This is because some of the things that yoga focuses on is relaxation, breathing and meditation.

When doing yoga there are different phases of the exercise like one that is called pranayama, these are breathing exercises where the spine is kept straight and deep breathing is done to expel toxins from the lungs. This deep slow breathing can help the person with asthma as it exercises the lungs, the airways, the bronchial tubes all while in a calm and relaxed state of mind. This also helps the person suffering from asthma to learn how to exhale forcefully while keeping the abdominal muscles contracted, which can help with muscle toning along with breathing techniques.
