When Asthma is Out of Control and What to do

When asthma is out of control it is important to realize it and to see the physician, because asthma when not treated can become debilitating. There are some symptoms that will let you know the condition is out of control, such as having difficulties with the disease at night.

Night difficulties with asthma can include certain asthma symptoms like wheezing, coughing, that are present often at night. Prior to sleep, the asthma symptoms might cause loss of breath while eating or can cause loss of breath when talking.

These symptoms might mean that there needs to be a change in medication or the inhaler that is used, to stop the symptoms that start when eating or sleeping. This can also mean the person that suffers from asthma, their condition is becoming worse. The physician should be told about the tightening of the chest, wheezing, and coughing as this can mean the medication being taken is not strong enough, or might need to be changed to provide relief.
