Asmanex is used only for patients that have asthma and need treatment. It is an inhaled steroid that patients take. The symptoms of asthma can be controlled when taking this steroid. It can be used from moderate to mild with treatment plus ages four and up can use it.

The Asmanex goes straight into your airways when a patient inhales it. The inflammation to the airways becomes reduced so the triggers that causes asthma is less. The airways are not as irritable when this medication is given so when around animal danders or mites it might not cause it to react like it would have before.

In the United States Asmanex comes as a dry powder inhaler and can be found with two kinds of strengths. Those strengths are either 220 or 110 micrograms. All that is usually required is one or two doses a day for it to work.

The side effects for Asmanex include but not limited to:

- Sinus infection
- Sore Throat
- Headache
- Upset Stomach
- Sore Mouth
- Bone pain
- Upper Respiratory Infection

In time the side effects might start to lessen some but if they do not the doctor should be contacted right away. If feeling uncomfortable or if it is not working the doctor should be notified.
